The
Illinois Health Education Consortium/
Western Illinois AHEC is please to
offer interactive point-to-point or
multi-point video conferences for
Critical Access Hospitals through
interactive video conferencing (polycom
system). This system is operated through
the Illinois Century Network, a publicly
funded internet service that provides
local T1 (1.5 mb) high speed access.
Through
Western Illinois AHEC's telehealth
programs, Critical Access Hospital
workers are able to keep their skills
and knowledge on the cutting edge
of present day information about their
discipline and the hospitals can access
education for their employees at a
lower cost and without loss of their
time traveling to remote sites for
education.
Programming
offerings have include a variety of
offerings including management topics,
medicare updates, bioterrorism preparendness,
best practices, quality improvement,
pharmacology updates, pediatric care
and emergency room care.
