Health Careers Mobile Summer Camp-2007
The Ujima, Latino, and Immigrant/Refugee Area Health Education Centers sponsored a Health Careers Mobile Summer Camp for Chicago area high school students on July 5-6, 2007. The camp assisted rising high school juniors and seniors with:
- Gaining first-hand information on career exploration, college and post college requirements, and financial aid
- Experiencing team-building, leadership, and dormitory life
- Interacting with health care professionals
Students were transported from Chicago on an overnight trip to the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. There was no cost to participate in this program.
Summer Health Career Camp-2005
During the Summer of 2005, 26 rural high school students
had the opportunity to learn more
about health professions careers through
the Northern Illinois AHEC Health
Careers Camp. The camp was held on
the campus of Northern Illinois University.
The
camp provided students with information
about health professions education
and training in Illinois, academic
requirements, financial aid, and campus
life.
