Promoting healthy communities is an important part of the Illinois Health Education Consortium/ AHEC’s work. Through these health promotion efforts, we connect communities to better health.

Healthy Eating By Design works with students, families, and teachers at McAuliffe Elementary School in Chicago, IL to increase knowledge and access to health foods.  A Fall Harvest Festival was held at the school in 2006.
