Asthma Training and Education Project

Asthma in Children

According to the American Lung Association, Asthma is the third leading cause of hospitalization among children under the age of 15. 

The 2006 Western Illinois AHEC/IHEC asthma project focused on increasing the understanding of health care providers in the diagnosis and management of asthma in children through educational seminars and materials.

Pediatric Asthma Pocket Guide- This Asthma pocket guide has been developed for primary care providers as a quick diagnosis, staging, and medication reference.

Asthma Action Plan- An Asthma Action Plan can help those with asthma recognize if their asthma symptoms are worsening and what steps to take as symptoms increase.
