The Western Illinois
AHEC (located in Quincy, IL) is partnering
with the Illinois Arthritis Initiative
Partnership to offer the Arthritis
Self-Help Course (ASHC) to
rural Illinois residents via videoconferencing
technology. The six week course will
be offered at 12 Critical Access Hospitals
beginning in September.
The ASHC course is for people with
arthritis or fibromyalgia. Self-help
means being able to learn and use
different skills to help manage pain,
remain independent, achieve a fulfilling
lifestyle, and manage the emotional
challenges of arthritis and fibromyalgia.
